Weight loss tips you need to know.
The decision to lose weight is a very personal journey and it’s different for every person. With so many different diets available and so much information on the internet, I’m here to tell you where to start! No matter which path of weight loss you decide, there are a few things you should do! Most of us have all dieted at some point in our lives, but what if you really are a beginner? What if you really have no clue what to do?
Well, I’m going to list a few weight loss tips for beginners. Know, before you go!

1. Mentally prepare yourself!!!
Mind over matter, people!!!! If you believe it, you can achieve it! Get in the mindset and get deep in it! If you woke up this morning and and decided you wanted to lose weight, that’s great, congratulations!!!! It’s really important to take some time to mentally prepare yourself for the journey you will embark on. Losing weight is not just about the diet it is a lifestyle change. If you want to be successful you must prepare yourself for some imminent changes. If you’ve ever heard the saying, don’t make a permanent decision based on a temporary emotion well this is a great example of that! You’re going to have to change your daily habits and you’re going to have to be consistent in order to see results. If you’re not mentally prepared, chances are, you’re setting yourself up for failure. Some people find motivation through quotes, through songs, videos or reading blogs. Whatever your means are for being inspired, do this! Get serious in your head first before you can get serious with your weight loss.
2. Be realistic!!
Fast weight loss is usually not sustainable weight loss. So even though the diet that says you’ll lose 2 or 3 pounds a day sounds fabulous, chances are, you’re going to have a hard time maintaining that weight loss. Manage your expectations and be very realistic on what you are able to do and what you can expect to see. It’s important to set long-term goals but it’s also important to set short-term goals. It’s the short-term goals that are going to make us feel successful and keep us motivated, so be realistic when you set those goals. The long-term goals are part of the bigger picture of of living a healthy lifestyle. Write your goals down, set reminders or even better find a mobile app to help with this! There are some pretty neat apps that can also assist in creating a healthy lifestyle, fitness, weight loss for beginners, calorie counting and of course inspiration!
3. Create an action plan!
This goes along with tip number two about being realistic. Start off with looking at your current habits about your health and fitness choices. Are you skipping breakfast? Are you eating late at night, do you engage in fitness activities? Write down a list of both positive and negative daily habits that that might affect your journey to a healthy lifestyle. From there you’ll be able to have a clear picture of what changes you can make immediately. This will also help guide you into the right direction of what type of diet is going to work best for you and your lifestyle. Which brings me to my next tip.
4. Low carb, paleo, gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian, high protein, fasting, raw foods, flexible dieting, detoxing, the list is endless!
So which is best for you? First and foremost, in order to lose weight your body must be in what’s called caloric deficit. This means that the intake of your calories is lower than the outtake of your calories on a daily basis. Let’s say you are in taking 1200 calories a day but you are burning 2000 calories a day. Your body is taking 800 calories out of storage and putting it into burnable fuel for you, thus enabling healthy weight loss. So figure out what is going to work best for you.
5. Educate yourself!!!!
Knowledge is power!!! We have the world at our fingertips and you can find the answer to any question by doing a search online. Seriously, everything is out there!!!! Even if you are a beginner, you have to start somewhere! Hiring a personal trainer is not in everyone’s budget. Want to know what exercises to do to tighten your buttocks? Get on YouTube, watch some videos on exercises that focus on that particular goal, take it to the gym and get at it!! Don’t know what the best foods to eat for your weight loss goals? On the go all the time? One really great option is weight loss companies that offer meal planning and prepping. Personally I love this option because they’ve already taken the guesswork out for me. The meals are planned around exactly the amount of calories and nutrients I need for my body so I don’t have to think a lot about what I’m going to eat and really when to eat it! A really great thing about some of these companies are they offer you a free personal health consultant. Which is really amazing for questions along the way as well as keeping you motivated. Some of these companies will really dig deep into your health goals and it becomes a very personalized experience. There are some companies that just provide the meals based off a certain price package you select. Which can be great if you don’t care to have much support or involvement or perhaps you know exactly what you need and you just want the food prep benefits. But for beginners, choosing a company that will sort that all out for you is a fantastic place to start your weight loss journey!
